There have been plenty of netbook reviews in recent years but not a single one about a smartbook. For those that don’t know what a smartbook is, it’s a netbook that has been designed to be even more battery efficient to the point where it can be left on permanently similar to a smart phone, hence the name.

Every smartbook that had been designed never actually made it to the market for a number of different reasons. Toshiba offers us a breath of fresh air with the release of their new AC100 smartbook.

The new Toshiba AC100 smartbook lives up to a lot of it’s expectations, running a 10.1″ screen at 1024×600 pixels, 512MB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage. The device comes with many features you would expect from a netbook but not all the features you would expect from a smartbook, the AC100 lacks a few of the features that is required to get the most out of the apps available for it.
